A mentor is an adult volunteer who meets with a child, enrolled in the Kinship program, preferably once a week for one year. Through this role modeling relationship mentors often provide new interests, participate in fun activities, develop a hobby, provide a community service or read together. The adult volunteer is carefully screened and participates in a mentor training.
